What is the Picsart Plugin for Sketch?

It’s a plugin that integrates Picsart’s advanced tools into Sketch, enabling users to remove backgrounds, upscale images, and manage Picsart API features directly within Sketch.

 

Do I need an API key to use the plugin?

Yes, you need a valid Picsart API key to access the plugin’s functionalities. You can register and generate an API key on the Picsart developer portal.

How does the credit payment system work?

Credits are a universal unit that is used to charge for APIs and SDK usage on Picsart. Each developer is given 50 credits for free upon signup. The balance can be refilled, by making a purchase. The more you buy, the bigger discount you get and the more credits are given per US dollar.

When an API call is made, the system checks for the “cost” of that triggered endpoint and charges a corresponding amount. There are endpoints such as /remove-background, that will cost, for example, 8 credits, and there are also endpoints such as /balance or /effects (lists the existing effect names) that will cost 0 credits (utility, helper methods are free of charge).

Similarly, when operations are made in SDK, for example, export is performed, a corresponding number of credits will be charged from the balance.

How do I set my API key?

Go to Plugins > Picsart plugin > Set API Key in Sketch, then enter your API key.

 

What does the removeBG feature do?

The removeBG feature removes the background from a selected image layer, leaving the subject isolated.

 

Can I upscale images with this plugin?

Yes, the plugin provides an Upscale feature to increase the resolution of selected images while preserving quality.

 

How do I check my API credit balance?

Go to Plugins > Picsart plugin > Check Credit Balance to view your remaining API credits in Sketch.

 

Can I use the plugin with Sketch on Windows?

No, Sketch is macOS-only, so the plugin works exclusively on macOS systems.

 

How do I know if the plugin is installed correctly?
